Activities

Our activities focus on developing skills and nurturing talent within the eisteddfodau tradition. Through targeted initiatives, we help strengthen the pool of knowledgeable adjudicators and practitioners who sustain local eisteddfodau across Wales.

Mentoring Scheme for Recitation Adjudicators

A mentoring scheme for aspiring recitation adjudicators (beirniaid llefaru) was established to help develop the next generation of qualified adjudicators. The initiative was proposed by Siân Teifi following a discussion at the Annual Meeting held at the Swansea Eisteddfod (Eisteddfod Abertawe).

Ten experienced adjudicators offered shadowing opportunities, giving aspiring adjudicators the chance to observe and learn from seasoned professionals in a real eisteddfod setting.

Development Officers

The society's Development Officers — Trystan Lewis and Geraint Hughes — work approximately six hours per week planning and delivering workshops across Wales. Their work spans folk dancing (dawnsio gwerin), folk singing (canu gwerin), and cerdd dant, with input from specialist practitioners and local eisteddfod committees.
